Midpoint of the Year – What has the Year Taught You?
I have experienced that 2024 is definitely training many of us to create more inner stability so we can roll with changes, flex easily, and learn to stay unattached to the outcome. It seems that this year in particular we plan for one thing, then everything changes, and this has been a constant all year.
This month, I am taking time to slow down, and go at my own pace in all aspects of my life: driving, walking, hiking, and eating, as well as waiting for answers when I don’t know which direction to take. Learning to pause is a powerful practice as it gives us time to think, to contemplate, and to BE.
As I expressed last month, summer is a great time to power down, rest, regenerate, and think about how you want to experience the second half of the year.
How have you moved towards your intentions for this year?
What have you done this year that required some courage and stretch?
Where and how have you grown?
What have you learned about yourself?
How are you moving closer to your ideal life and work?
I am remodeling an in-law unit in my home into a studio apartment, which has led me to pairing down in living more simply and minimally. I am not only restructuring physically, but also how I think about my life – reorganizing and regenerating for the future of what I desire to create: less stuff, more simplicity, more freedom, and greater creativity. In the midst of staying focused on what I am creating, it allows me to experience and envelop myself in the feeling of what my creation will bring into my life. This is great training for my mind to navigate hard changes and challenges that arise in a remodel. Learning to focus on the progress I am making every day, I understand it is the small wins that create the big leaps and move us toward our desires.
It is giving acknowledgement to ourselves that builds deeper self-love and allows us to stay open in the midst of deep change.
Honor the small moves forward each day and watch how the intentional practice of acknowledgment begins to open you to more love and to more magic.
