How to Stay in the Flow and Create a Career You Love
This month I am speaking to career navigation and how we participate in creating the next move in our careers. Be that making a job change, navigating our next move in our current company, starting a business or growing a business. I am speaking to how to hold this process of career creation so it flows rather than works against us or makes us feel stuck.
There are 3 stages we go through in our work life, first we secure a job – this is viewed as work, then we may look for a career – something that plays to our strengths and helps us grow, it makes us happy. Then we move into our vocation and this is where we want to serve and do meaningful work. I view my work as a Career Coach as a vocation because it makes me happy because it allows me to play to my strengths and serve others in learning to play to their strengths and find work that makes them happy.
I work with a lot of career clients that are not sure what they are looking for next.
I have had multiple clients hire me to partner with them in being an active participant in creating the next move in their career. The first step is getting clear on the elements of what your vision is for what you desire next in your career. You may not know what it looks like or what it is called but you do know how you want to feel. So start there.
Craft a vision statement for how you will feel when you have created the next career/business goal. What components will be apart of this new role?
Then sit in this vision daily even if only for 1-3 minutes. Let your body feel what it will feel like when you have created this in your life. Feeling your vision helps you stay in a state of relaxation when you are in a creative process. It helps rewire the brain and new synapse start firing. When you allow this to happen you start seeing things work for you rather than against you.
Resistance and negative beliefs are a sure way to not get the interview and land the job you desire. It helps to flip the switch in your brain to focusing on what is working instead of what is not.
Remember we are all just energy and creating a career move is an opportunity to look at how you are managing your energy and your thoughts in order to stay in the flow and relax to attract in what you desire.
I hope you enjoy my blogs on this topic this month as they will dive into deeper steps for creating from a place of flow.
I welcome your comments and thoughts. Let’s keep this conversation flowing as it helps us all stay in the creative flow of our work.
For those of you interested I am offering a 3-month virtual class called The Art of Being in the Flow. This is an experiential class with opportunity to practice and work with an accountability buddy and put practices in place to live in the flow and allow your creativity to manifest your specific goals.
Allow Yourself to Flow,
