Are You Directing Your Energy Effectively?

This month we are going to focus on looking at the tolerations that consume you, and how to begin to move them into acceptance or get rid of them.

A toleration is something that is put up with or endured; it is a burden that consumes time, money, and mental space, which takes your energy. Acceptance is understanding that while something may not be pleasant and is a fact of that person’s life, it can become a positive factor with the right attitude and constructive planning for its presence. 

By seeing the distinction between acceptance and tolerations and eliminating any harmful and hindering tolerations, you begin to acknowledge and accept yourself and those around you to move into the space of more love and energy.

We have made tolerating an abundant art form. 

We endure, take on, and are dragged down by people’s behavior (including our own), situations, unmet needs, crossed boundaries, unfinished business, frustrations, and a myriad of other problems. Tolerations sabotage how you desire to feel and what you desire to create. Most tolerations can be eliminated, but they must be first identified. Even the tolerations that cannot be eliminated are easier to handle just by our awareness of them.

Here are 4 steps for handling your tolerations:

  • What are you putting up with?
  • What is bugging you that you would like to eliminate?
  • How would you be served if you didn’t have this toleration?
  • What needs to be done to have this toleration handled?

Once you determine what you are tolerating and how you will feel once it is handled, you have three actions you may take: DELETE IT, DELEGATE IT or DO IT.
