How Are You Surviving in the Deconstruction?
To deconstruct is defined as exposing hidden internal assumptions, contradictions and subverting its apparent significance or unity. If you hadn’t noticed, that is what we are all going through right now – individually and collectively – on a global scale and in every industry and family. How are you surviving and even thriving during this time? Deconstruction is necessary in order to create a new life, a new experience and a new way of being. We have to take a good look at all the hidden parts of ourselves, our work, our relationships, the world we live in and clean out the beliefs, thoughts, and perceptions that don’t serve what it is we really want to experience.
This has certainly been the case for me and my family. In my small family consisting of myself and two children, we are all looking at the dynamic of our family and the patterns we have created that no longer serve each of us in living more fully into our potential. It isn’t easy work by any means, but it is necessary if you want to live life to your fullest, richest potential.
I have been amazed at how much we carry from past generations and relationships, and honestly how blind I have been through my life of raising kids and growing my family and career. I realize this is normal. It is a natural state to awaken to yourself throughout your life. The more you clear out beliefs and patterns that don’t serve you, and the more you make room for the beliefs you desire that support creating the career you want, the relationships that are full and rich, and the experience of happiness while you are here . . . the result is deep happiness and gratitude coming from inside you.
We can choose to be angry, depressed, and negative, or we can make a conscious choice to choose different thoughts that support a different belief. Science has proven that our thoughts create our reality. So what are you thinking as we dive deep into this deconstruction of our world as we knew it? How are those thoughts supporting you in growing more into your own potential? If negativity is what is showing up – how can you use this to serve you in clearing out a belief, thoughts or experience that you may need to heal or let go of?
I want to remind you to be gentle with yourself, seek support in any form, be in nature, and create some sort of contemplative practice. Our real anchor and our real support come from inside us; it comes from that which is bigger than us, from our soul, higher power, whatever you choose to call it.
We are being asked to change whether we want to or not. What will help you release the resistance to change if you are finding it difficult? It is a choice to make it difficult, by what you think. Contemplative practice will be needed, or you may feel truly lost.
From Michael Lenox, Astrologer: “We are all being hit with this powerful sense of a need to be both clear and definitive about where you want to go next, but also completely flexible with what that is to look like. If you are feeling overwhelmed in this moment of deconstruction, and can’t imagine that you know how to put everything back together again, this is perfect to remember this: There is a part of you that does know where every single piece in your life fits. Ask that part of you to guide your way through and then, we can all just surrender to the ride.”
This is a time to build trust with yourself and your own inner knowing along with any contemplative practice that will support you in strengthening the trust muscle. If you need a place to start, here is a short-guided meditation that may help. I also have several free downloads that walk you through ways to de-stress and go inward.
Reach out for support, feel the emotions moving through you, and most of all be gentle with yourself and give yourself permission to let go and surrender into the change at hand.
