How to Move from Bogged Down to Freedom in 2024
A new year is here, and I am so excited for the new energy of this year. 2024 equals 8, and in numerology, 8 is a universal number that has its own energy and power. An 8 year will be affecting us in these key areas of our lives: success, power, and plenty. It has the potent energy of manifestation. The question is how will we harness this energy to create and build what we each desire?
While good things will flourish, we will be given lessons to learn to strengthen these areas as well.
- Where are you putting your attention to reap big rewards?
- Where are you taking leadership and charge of your own life?
- How are you holding boundaries and creating space for balance and possibilities to come into your life?
I have several clients that I am using a framework to support them in looking at their current reality and their ideal reality (what they want to create this year).
The key is getting to the root mindset that is getting in the way of living and breathing your ideal experience into reality.
First, you have to think about what is creating the gap, and then getting clear on the gap you need to close.
Write out on a piece of paper your current experience and reality.
- What are your thoughts about it? What is the underlying mindset?
- What are the feelings those thoughts are creating in you?
- How are those thoughts and feelings impacting your behavior?
On the opposite side of the paper, write out your ideal experience (what you want to create).
Write out the answers to the same questions above.
Example: Topic – Being more Strategic Thinking vs. Task Oriented
What are my current thoughts about not being strategic and the underlying mindset?
Write down the thoughts that arise as you think about this daily; what emotions does this create, how does this impact your behavior and actions?
On the opposite side of the page:
What are the thoughts I want to be thinking, and what are the feelings I want to be experiencing?
How will this show up in my behavior?
Do this exercise for each of your intentions for 2024.
Now you have clearly created the gap you need to close this year. Set up an accountability buddy, or a coach, to support you in closing this gap.
Set regular meetings every 2 weeks to set 1 or 2 action items you need to start practicing to shift your current mindset to the ideal mindset. Be clear on what strategies will help shift your thinking and feelings in the moment, and then what you need to practice in your behavior.
With each meeting with your accountability buddy/coach, continue to add on new practices and habits for what gets in your way of living in your desired experience.
Shifting our mindset and brain takes time and consistent practice. This formula can be your reminder when you get stuck in the old mindset or behaviors. Your accountability buddy or coach can be with you step-by-step to cheer you on and to keep you going.
