Personal Growth is the New Economy . . .
As we move into a new cycle of 2018, I invite you to think about where you will put your attention this year.
Personal Growth is being open to looking at yourself (both the good and the bad) and to listening to the parts of yourself that make you uncomfortable. Self-Help is being willing to help yourself verses being a victim and blaming others. This involves shedding the stories you tell yourself that don’t serve your growth and allowing the light and the breath to shine in all parts of yourself. Focus on staying connected to your potential, dreams and experiences you desire for your life.
We live in an addictive society; by shifting your attention to growth, you expand your potential, which strengthens your emotional intelligence.
If the statements below ring true for you, it may be time to put some strategy around your personal growth for the New Year. Bestselling author Seth Godin writes:
“We live in a world where we have leverage to make things happen, the desire to do work we believe in, and a marketplace that is begging us to be remarkable. And yet, in the middle of these changes, we still get stuck.
Stuck following archaic rules.
Stuck in industries that not only avoid change but actively fight it.
Stuck in fear of what our boss will say, stuck because we’re afraid we’ll get into trouble.
Most of all, we’re stuck acting like managers or employees, instead of like the leaders we could become.”
Godin states that leadership is about creating change you believe in. How you lead yourself this year is how you will determine your 2018 experience and beyond.
What support will you engage to create the change in yourself that you believe is necessary to create the goals you desire? It may involve hiring a therapist or a coach, joining a mastermind or participating in a professional development group.
Growth is not for weenies, author Jen Sincero shares in her book, You Are a Badass. Growing oneself helps to grow your intuition, and as we transition into the intuition age and out of the information age, this will be very important in creating stability and the feeling of safety in the midst of our chaotic world.
My focus this year is building my brand with interviews, sharing my book and Playbook, building power partners in my work and supporting clients with the creation of mastermind groups for leaders.
I have completed the creation of my 12-month program and playbook that supports clients in living from a place where you learn to listen and trust yourself more, build on your strengths and build commitment to being an active participant in creating the life and work you desire. You can check it out here.
Join me and let’s take an active part in building a structure that supports you in leading yourself into the vision you desire for 2018. We can all work together to create the new economy of growth.
