The Three Pillars of Wholeness: Lessons on Leadership, Motherhood, and Personal Growth
As I reflect on Mother’s Day, I am reminded how much a mother’s role resembles that of a teacher (I am both a teacher and a mother). Part of my certification process to become a yoga and meditation teacher involved learning to teach from a place of consciousness — to truly master and to integrate the teachings into my being, so that I could live them, not just teach them. The intention was always to guide others to become better versions of themselves.
This same principle applies to being a mother, or a leader, of any kind. From the perspective of motherhood, we can look at three pillars of wholeness: Our career, our relationships, and our healing — all growing together. It’s about tending to our inner world, our personal and professional development, while nurturing the external aspects of our lives.
As a single mother of two, these three pillars — career, relationships, and healing — became the foundation for how I grew myself and my family. They are also the foundation I continue to rely on as I grow my business.
When I focus on healing and expanding my own capacity as a person, it naturally supports the growth of my career and strengthens my personal and professional relationships. Through living this way, I model for my children how to grow themselves as well.

It’s the same for leadership: When leaders focus on their personal and professional development, it positively impacts their career advancement, decision-making, team culture and productivity, and even their family life.
Ultimately, the goal is to lead in a way that lifts up those around you through building deep trust, transparency, and love. As Simon Sinek suggests, it is about leading hearts instead of heads.
May this Mother’s Day offer you a moment of reflection on how you are moving through the world, inspiring positive change, and honoring the role models, mothers, and leaders who believed in your ability to become a better version of yourself.
Here is an inspirational video from Simon Sinek that speaks to this idea of how we choose to lead ourselves, our lives, and our companies.
